Welcome to Hair Rentals!

I'm Chanieël du Plessis, the owner and founder of Hair Rentals. Originally from Mosselbay where I began my career in the hair and beauty industry after earning my international hair extension qualifications in Cape Town. 

For about six years, I devoted myself to hair extensions, working from my premises in Mosselbay and George. During this time, I managed the business, importing hair extensions and supplying them to salons and the public. I offered various hair extension installation methods and introduced the innovative concept of renting out clip-in hair extensions for special occasions. 

The idea for the hair rental concept stemmed from brides visiting the Garden Route for weddings and local girls in the small-town longing for hair extensions for their matric farewells. Many couldn't afford the price tag that comes along with high-quality hair extensions, so I took a few sets intended for sale and began promoting them for rent. Surprisingly, it took off well. Years later, now residing in Gauteng, I decided to reintroduce the hair rental concept in Johannesburg, Sandton, under the name 'Hair Rentals.' 

Alongside the Hair Rentals business, I am also doing Scalp Micropigmentation. I underwent extensive training to perfect the art and to pursue a full-time career in Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) industry, also known by many as 'hair tattooing,' under the brand SMP South Africa.
